The Stressed AF Show
Learning Outcomes
Stressed AF is an evidence-based mental health orientation program and workshop designed to meet students where they are. The show breaks down the “why” behind our physical feelings of stress and the “how” that impacts our mental health. Created by a curious improv comedian with a distaste for traditional lectures. The event offers practical stress management techniques and touches on suicide awareness in a way that feels like a simple, safe conversation.
By the end of the event, attendees will be able to:
Understand the Science of Stress: Distinguish between the stressor and the stress response (Cortex vs. Amygdala).
Build Resilience: Utilize actionable coping strategies to manage acute and chronic stress.
Identify Warning Signs: Recognize when a friend is struggling and how to have a safe, supportive conversation.
Normalize the Conversation: Approach conversations about suicide awareness and mental health with confidence and empathy.
